When Elizabeth becomes so overwrought she loses control, she starts to worry that perhaps Lady Catherine was right and that marrying Darcy WOULD be a degradation to him. Darcy, but she and Jane are constantly shielding their respective gentlemen from embarrassing behavior by their mother and Lydia (yep, she shows up for the wedding). Bennet is industriously planning their wedding. The Bennets are celebrating the betrothals of Jane and Elizabeth, and Mrs. Along with all that, it's a darn good adventure yarn with intrigue, suspense, and romance. Deep discussions about religion and marriage occasionally lead characters to quote verses from both the Christian Old Testament and the Torah, treating them with equal reverence. It also explains some Jewish history and describes some Judaic precepts and rituals. This is much more than a sequel to Pride and Prejudice.
